No doubt you know what an MP3 is, those little
files with big sound. Now very popular for their
low-low cost (nothing) and their somwhat high-quality
reporduction of sound, MP3 players have arisen
onto the Macintosh platform. Our new choices are
great, but their not cheap.
The Mac-compatible RioPort500 on my left, costs
about $260. Now this is a great deal for a MP3
player, you get 1 full hour of digital recording.
But that's all. One hour. And unless you're willing
to spend another $100 for a 32meg flash card,
you're going to stay at one hour of muisc, forever.
Now that's not too bad if you have only an hour
of music, but technology is changing. Soon, there
will probably be another format, and quite frankly,
the Rio won't be able to handle it.
So, you still want to play MP3's on the go? Well,
we'll show you how to do it for CHEAP with just
a MD Recorder, and a cable. MacMD has teamed up
with The
Mac-OS Page, to bring you the ultimate MP3-to-MD
